zombie surprise party tonight

met the parents

Tonight I met the parents of the gentleman I’ve been dating for the past couple months. We had a nice dinner and it turned out a lot better than I thought it would. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. I’m pretty sure I shook his father’s hand with my sweaty palm. However, we all swapped childhood memories, had many laughs, and shared some common interests. I thought it would be awkward considering I went to school with his younger sister, but we ended up getting along swimmingly. They had a beautiful home-I mostly say this because of the pull down television in their kitchen. And by the end of the night we hugged and kissed cheeks good-bye. I feel like that’s a good sign.

I should probably hold my tongue until I hear what they thought of me.

yes, it is a messy room

I have a habit of stocking up on things I will one day populate my own house with. I have a few pieces of art to decorate the walls, some vintage lamps to illuminate when the moonlight isn’t enough, and now this beautiful set of emerald green cups. I’ve even bought an outrageous amount of vintage aprons that will find a cozy corner in my children’s memories as I bake their favorite treats. I may or may not have a problem.

I dreamt it was autumn again.

happy mother’s day

to all mothers-future, past and present.

The rest of my day will be spent writing a little of my book and watching The Pixar Story while sipping on the billionaire’s vinegar.
